“You’re Clown” – The Rock Denies Claim of Hating CM Punk

Let’s rewind to 12 years ago, when CM Punk was in his historic 434-day championship reign. The Rock challenged him for the title at the 2013 Royal Rumble and defeated him, ending Punk’s reign. They also had a rematch at the Elimination Chamber later that year.

That rivalry was intense, especially with Punk’s sharp promos. One of his most famous lines, “Your arms are just too short to box with God,” was aimed at The Rock. Recently, a fan posted a video on Instagram suggesting that The Rock still held a grudge against Punk. The Brahma Bull, according to the fan, would never permit Punk to headline WrestleMania as long as he was involved.

However, shortly before the public release of the fan’s post, Paul Heyman on SmackDown informed Punk that his long-held dream of main-eventing WrestleMania was finally coming true. The fan’s post then raised concerns about Punk’s spot at WM41, but the Rock’s response clarified the situation and dispelled all doubts.

The Hollywood star said, “First of all, Punk and I have become good buddies over the years. We’re solid. Secondly, whatever match making scenario is best for true long term (not short term) business success – that will be out Mania main event. Lastly, you’re clown.”

Fans aren’t all convinced by The Rock’s clarification

If The Rock hadn’t clarified the rumors about his supposed hatred toward CM Punk, it could have created tension and mystery among fans regarding Punk’s chances of main-eventing WrestleMania. However, The Rock broke the kayfabe rule and publicly addressed the issue, which seemed like a desperate attempt to clear his image.

Consequently, numerous fans are enraged with The Rock, believing that the clarification was unnecessary. Some are even blaming him for breaking kayfabe, while others are trying to echo what he meant when he called “You’re clown.”
