’40 for 40 from free-throw line’ Miami Heat record-breaking match vs Oklahoma City, capped by Jimmy Butler’s game-winner

The Miami Heat are having a mediocre season so far, yet they seem promising, with victories every now and then. The team did not start the season well, losing to the Timberwolves, which they followed up with a four-match winning streak from there onwards- if they lost a match, they meant on to win the next one- they have managed to cover up their losses with a similar number of wins.

This Tuesday, they brought up their twenty-second victory out of forty-two attempts and slightly improved their winning percentage making it .524 Pct. However, that is not the only thing they improved on, as they broke a thirty-nine-year-old record.

It was a team-effort win against the Thunder, and stats reflect that- overall, the Heat looked the better team on paper, both in offense and defense. Even though the Thunder team had more on-field goals, the Heat players showed their skills on the field with four blocks, ten steals, and nineteen turnovers.

Moreover, their skills were even more on display when they outplayed the team from Oklahoma City with their three-pointers and Free throws. In fact, Miami Heat broke the thirty-nine-year-old record of thirty-nine free throws in the fortieth year with forty free throws, thanks to the extra efforts provided by none other than Jimmy Butler!

Who was the star of the show?

Along with Max Strus and Victor Oladipo, Jimmy was the “star of the show” as “The Butler” showed everyone what he is made of, scoring thirty points and scoring the winning point with 12 seconds to go.

Scoring the last point from the free-throw line, the Power forward broke the 1982 thirty-nine-pointer record set by the Utah Jazz.

The Heat currently stands in eighth place in the Eastern Conference; with promising form and another forty games to go, the Miami team will give it their all to qualify for the next stage of the tournament. Can the Heat make it? Stay tuned and find out!
