The newly hired head coach of the Denver Broncos, Sean Payton harshly criticized the Broncos last year’s coaching. He was vocal against the job Nathaniel Hackett did as the coach of the team and also called the offensive line of the team poor.
Jets’ OL Billy Turner, who has previously played in the same team as Hackett and is set to play with him again in the 2023 season, came forward to clarify the coach’s name. He brutally blasted Payton over his comments calling them “childish.”

Sean Payton is the head coach of the Broncos for the 2023 season. In a recent interview, he shared his candid thoughts on Broncos’ coaching in the previous season. The head coach was bold enough to state that the Denver Broncos were one of the worst-coached teams ever. He also criticized the offensive line of the team calling it ‘poor.’
“They can only beat the (expletive) out of you so much. But everybody’s got a little stink on their hands. It’s not just Russell. It was a (poor) offensive line. It might have been one of the worst coaching jobs in the history of the NFL. That’s how bad it was,” he said.

The target of his criticism was Nathaniel Hackett who coached the team last year. Now that Sean Payton has gotten the responsibility, it seems like he’s not happy about the condition of the team. He believes that he will need to do a lot of work to improve the team’s condition and according to him the credit for it goes to the team’s poor coaching in the 2022 season.

After Payton’s comments were published, Billy Turner who played on the offensive line for the Broncos last year blasted the team’s head coach.
As Turner has played under the coaching of Hackett he didn’t hold back and stated that Payton is scared of the coaching responsibilities and is trying to blame the former coach of the team,
“Seems like someone started training camp and is trying to soften the blow after realizing what he’s in for this season. F*cking bum,”
He also added the hashtags, “childish” and “BountyGate,” which was a reference to the scandal because of which Payton was suspended once.

The way the Jets OL came forward to defend Hackett probably shows that he thinks highly of Nathaniel’s coaching skills. Turner had extensive experience with the coach. When he played with the Packers, Hackett was the offensive coordinator of the team. Turner also played with the Broncos where Nathaniel was their head coach. Now, the OL is starting a new season with the Jets where again Hackett is his offensive coordinator.
Actions usually speak louder than words, let’s see how all the parties involved in this dispute perform in their respective duties come the next season.
