The Eagles will play against the Chiefs on Sunday, what will be a long-awaited Super Bowl encounter amongst the best two teams of the season. However, some team owners do not invest in their teams accordingly and go on to bash the finalists getting jealous of their success. This became the story of Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones.
Throughout their 21st-century football history, the Cowboys could not build a team that could lead them to feature in the Super Bowl. On the other hand, while talking about building the ideal team, owner Jerry Jones bashed the Eagles by saying,
“Anybody who thinks I won’t take a chance, has misread the tea leaves. But I do think longer term. And I’m real hesitant to bet it all for a year. There’s a lot of things that can happen for that year. In essence, we’re seeing a couple of teams that have had some real success putting it all out there and paying for it later, in Philadelphia and Los Angeles.”
However, the NFL world, along with former Cowboys coach Jimmy Johnson was not pleased with such statements. Moreover, when the Eagles’ owner Jeffrey Lurie called Johnson to know what the Dallas owner was talking about, the former coach responded by saying that he had “no idea.”

Jimmy later contradicted Jerry by praising the Eagles team with an honest statement.
What did Jimmy Johnson say that contradicted and blasted Jerry Jones?
Following his “no idea” statement, Johnson expressed his thoughts on the Eagles via ProFootballTalk and said,
“Philadelphia has a couple of first-round picks in the [2023] NFL draft. They’ve got extra picks down the road. They’ve got some very talented players. They’ve got some talented young players.”
With his statement, Jimmy proved that Jones was wrong and that Philadelphia’s young players are set for the long run.
