After NBA launched investigation on Josh Giddey for dating a minor, 21-year-old rookie features for the first time for OKC Thunder

Josh Giddey is a young star filled with lots of potential. Standing at 6 feet 8 inches, he possesses great court vision and dynamic passing abilities. Giddey creatively uses his handles to confuse defenders and beat the defense.

He is a smart player and playmaker, utilizing his strong body to bump defenders and score. Despite his considerable potential, recent actions may have a negative impact on his career as he is being investigated for dating a minor.

Josh Giddey features in OKC Thunders loss over 76ers

In his first game back since it was revealed that he had an improper relationship with a minor girl, Australian NBA player Josh Giddey scored 10 points for his Oklahoma City Thunder team.

The game between the Thunder and the Philadelphia 76ers was a close one but OKC ended up losing the game. With less than a minute remaining and a double team forming around him, Joel Embiid somehow bounced a ball into Tyrese Maxey’s hands as the late shot clock was running out.

Oklahoma City did a good job of defending the possession. When 1.8 seconds appeared on the backboard, Isaiah Joe bailed out Maxey by bumping him. Such plays marred the Thunder’s evening, which ended in a 127-123 defeat.

“I just thought we didn’t have our best punch in terms of our physical output, mental,” Thunder’s coach Mark Daigneault said. “It certainly wasn’t the best we could play. “That hasn’t been who we are to this point in the season,” he added.

NBA investigating allegations on Josh Giddey

A league spokesperson confirmed to multiple outlets that the NBA is looking into claims that Josh Giddey of the Oklahoma City Thunder had a relationship with a minor. The NBA is investigating accusations against 21-year-old Giddey, initially raised on social media, as confirmed by NBA spokesperson Mike Bass to The Athletic, the first to report the story.

NBC News, upon seeking comment, reported that Bass “offered no further information” about the investigation. When PEOPLE contacted the NBA and the Oklahoma City Thunder for comment on Saturday, neither organization responded promptly.

An anonymous social media user, who has since deleted their account, allegedly claimed to have seen Giddey in pictures and videos with a high school junior, according to the Associated Press. Giddey and Thunder coach Mark Daigneault refrained from speaking with reporters during a practice on Friday. “I understand the question, obviously, but there’s no further comment right now,” Giddey told reporters.
