Cody’s 11-minute match at Crown Jewel was a great example of his prowess on the wrestling mat. Cody’s commitment to being one of wrestling’s biggest stars in 2023 is undeniable. However, after departing AEW in February of last year, he made a shocking return to WWE at WrestleMania 38.

In a recent interview with Sports Illustrated, Cody stated that WWE Hall of Famer Sting was offered as his opponent for his farewell match in AEW. He said, “The last match I was offered in AEW was that match. It wasn’t confirmed, or anything like that, but just the little I had to do with his debut there is a wonderful memory. I was a little Stinger. Maybe I’ll pull out a Stinger Splash in his honor. Seriously, cheers to a wonderful career.”

Cody Rhodes beats Damian Priest with help from Jey Uso

At a recent WWE PLE event, Cody Rhodes defeated Damien Priest with the assistance of Jey Uso. Earlier in the evening, Sami Zayn stole Priest’s Money in the Bank briefcase. Initially, it was just Priest and Rhodes in the ring. Outside the ring, Rhodes put up a good fight and even executed a spectacular maneuver. Later, Finn Balor and JD McDonagh got involved, but Rhodes stood his ground.

Jey Uso assisted Rhodes by keeping the crowd at bay when Dominik Mysterio arrived with a chair. After a long and grueling battle, Rhodes emerged victorious with three Cross Rhodes strikes, leaving Saudi Arabia as the champion. Since Sami Zayn stole his briefcase and lost to the American Nightmare, Damien Priest’s time has been quite challenging.
