Cody Rhodes gets laid out by Judgment Day with steel chair only moments after accepting Damian Priest’s call out to WWE Crown Jewel

Monday Night RAW was a thrilling event held in Dallas’s American Airlines Arena. Among the guests on the program were The Judgment Day, Jey Uso, and Cody Rhodes. After losing the WWE Undisputed Tag Team Championship to Finn Balor and Damien Priest last week, Cody Rhodes was out for vengeance.

This was the last RAW before next month’s Crown Jewel event. Last week’s SmackDown gained record viewership, but this week’s RAW has its shocks. Cody Rhodes didn’t get his wish right away to smash Judgment Day; but, next Saturday in Riyadh, he will confront Priest in a one-on-one match.

Cody Rhodes accepts bout vs Damian Priest

The match between Cody Rhodes and Damian Priest at Crown Jewel has already been scheduled. Cody accepted Damian’s offer on this week’s Raw when he cut into a commercial for The Judgement Day.

Despite not having a bout right away, Cody made a spectacular entrance on Raw. In response to Cody’s challenge, WWE has planned a match between Damian Priest and himself at Crown Jewel. Due to their different schedules, Cody and Priest don’t usually face each other in singles play, so this could be an interesting clash.

At Crown Jewel, the Undisputed Tag Team title will not be at stake. It is unclear what role Finn Balor will play, but he will be in Saudi Arabia showing his support for Damian nonetheless.

The Judgement Day plotted an assault on Cody to disrupt his work on Crown Jewel. It was a 4-on-1 with the addition of Rhea Ripley and Dominik Mysterio, but Jey Uso managed to step in for a while. Jey was eventually taken out of the equation as well.

Judgment Day attacks Cody Rhodes

In the first segment of Monday night’s program, Cody Rhodes interfered between Damian Priest and Finn Balor, setting up a one-on-one bout for November 4 at Crown Jewel. Dominik Mysterio and Rhea Ripley joined the onslaught, but Jey Uso broke it up, so Priest and Rhodes could fight outside.

JD McDonagh showed up and helped their group take the upper hand. Rhodes’ leg was badly broken when Priest smashed it with a steel chair. Despite Rhodes’ ankle condition, Michael Cole announced the encounter with Damian Priest for WWE Crown Jewel later in the program. The severity of Rhodes’ injury and its potential effect on the game are both now unclear.

Cody’s ankle injury seemed severe to the audience, but nothing is certain until official word is out. Fans have faith that American Nightmare can get through this injury soon.
