Arsenal managed to do a clean sweep at the London Football Awards.

Odegaard beat some serious competitors to the award like Harry Kane, Ivan Toney, Aleksandar Mitrovic, and even his own superstar teammate Bukayo Saka.

He said after winning the award, “I just want to share this with the whole team. It’s great to see the club being recognized with all the awards. I think it shows how far we’ve come as a club and what we’re doing this year is very special.”

England international Bukayo Saka won the Young Player of the Year award for the second time as he was the previous recipient of the award in 2021 as well. Aaron Ramsdale managed to get his hands on the Goalkeeper of The Year award for his goalkeeping heroics for Arsenal.

Mikel Arteta deservedly won the Manager of the Year award after guiding Arsenal to first place this year. Along with playing some brilliant football at the moment, he has revitalized players like Xhaka and Nketiah and brought out the best in his players. He has instilled a winning philosophy and is about to be the first Arsenal manager since Arsene Wenger to win the title after 19 years.

In his acceptance speech, he thanked everyone at the club for the award, “I would like to thank you for the award, for all my colleagues, all the staff, everyone at the club that inspires & supports me, and obviously all the supporters that support our club and football in general.”

What are the London Football Awards?

The London Football Awards are there only for football clubs based in London like Arsenal, Tottenham, West Ham, Fulham, Chelsea, and others. Clubs from other vicinities like Liverpool, Manchester City, and Manchester United do not have their players nominated. The awards are judged by an independent panel of football directors, personalities, and journalists.

Arsenal is now top of the Premier League table with a five point lead over Manchester City. They won 3-0 over the weekend thanks to a Leandro Trossard masterclass against London derby rivals Fulham.

Arteta and Arsenal will now host Sporting Lisbon on Thursday in the second leg of the Europa League Round of 16 before facing Crystal Palace on Sunday to extend their lead at the top of the table.
