Bayern Munich Set to Sign Napoli CB Kim Min-Jae for €50M Amid Rumored Interest for Tottenham’s Harry Kane

Bayern Munich struggled a lot last season, mainly because of their defensive woes. The Bavarian club lost games they could have won, leaving the title race open until the final day when Borussia Dortmund struggled to get a point against Mainz.

The Munich club made some changes at almost every level last summer, parting ways with manager Julian Nagelsmann, replacing him with another German tactician, Thomas Tuchel. Oliver Kahn was also fired as the club’s CEO just one day before the season’s final fixture.

Their activities indicate that they are preparing for the future. With Lucas Hernandez set to depart for Paris Saint-Germain this summer, it’s obvious for the club to invest in another seasoned center-back.

Is Kim Min-Jae a Good Fit For Bayern?

Manchester United had been linked with the South Korean international even before the conclusion of last season. However, an agreement could not be reached. This had Bayern, to swoop in and reportedly, they had a breakthrough.

The Bavarian club have reportedly reached a verbal agreement with the in-form defender, leaving them in a good position to negotiate a deal with the Napoli, most likely by paying his release clause set at €50 million. If a deal eventually goes through, Bayern Munich will have one of the best defenders in the world at the moment.

A ball-playing center-back with a strong defensive presence, Kim will perfectly complement the talented but inconsistent  Upamecano. The French defender partnered at the back with De Ligt for most of last season but cost the team some crucial games, especially against Manchester City in the quarter-finals of the UEFA Champions League.

Kim Min-Jae will come well for Bayern Munich. With his finesse, Bayern can dictate much of their play from the back and play their mettle of football. Besides his defensive qualities, Kim Min-Jae is also a silent leader – just about what the club needs right now.

Harry Kane to Bayern Rumors

Bayern Munich has struggled to get goals since losing Robert Lewandowski to Barcelona in the summer of last season. Even with Sadio Mane on their books (it hasn’t quite worked out well), the German club needs a proven goalscorer, and Harry Kane would fit perfectly.

Bayern have wooed  Harry Kane pretty much all window long. However, a deal with Tottenham for the England captain looks very unlikely, considering Daniel Levy’s reluctance to part ways with the club’s record goalscorer.

If Bayern manage to get the deal, they’ll have one of the deadliest attacks in Europe, with Sadio Made, Leroy Sane, Serge Gnabry, and Harry Kane leading the charge. While a deal is unlikely, it can’t be ruled out in the coming weeks.

If Harry Kane wants to win trophies, where better to win them than the best team in Germany? It’s almost a no-brainer.
