Bears Star DJ Moore offers Caleb Williams insightful advice on earning locker room respect

DJ Moore and many other players didn’t want the Bears to sign a new quarterback and preferred to continue with Justin Fields. However, with the team having the No. 1 pick in the 2024 NFL Draft, the arrival of Caleb Williams to the Bears seemed inevitable.

The Bears informed Moore on Saturday about trading Fields to the Steelers. Now, he is content with whoever fills the QB position but also offered advice to Caleb Williams on how to earn respect in the locker room.

DJ Moore offers insightful advice to Caleb Williams

In a recent interview, DJ Moore talked about the team’s recent moves. He shared that he would be okay to work with the new QB as “business is business.” Moore emphasized that no one wanted Justin Fields to leave but they will have to agree with the team’s decisions.

Reportedly, the Bears are planning to sign Caleb Williams. However, considering how no one wanted Fields to leave, it will get hard for Williams to earn respect in the locker room which had people full of Justin’s supporters.

However, DJ Moore has simple advice for Caleb to deal with this situation. He shared that if Caleb Williams, who had a unique NFL Draft request, just focuses on his work and doesn’t focus much on Justin Fields’ legacy, it will be easier for him to thrive in the locker room.

“I hope he just comes in and gets ready to work,” Moore said. “You can’t worry about the legacy of Justin Fields. You got to go out there and worry (about your own thing).”

While Moore has shared a piece of simple advice, it can get much harder for Caleb Williams to deal with all these things. There will be many players on the team who might not make this process easier for him including Jaylon Johnson.

Jaylon Johnson won’t allow Caleb Williams act like a campus boss

Jaylon Johnson, a cornerback for the Bears, also expressed his views on Caleb Williams’ arrival during an interview on “Up and Adams with Kay Adams.”

He emphasized the importance of humility and hard work, indicating that Williams cannot bring a sense of entitlement or campus boss mentality to the team.

“You just humble yourself coming into the building,” Johnson told Adams about the QB.

Johnson stated his intention to push Williams in practice to ensure he reaches his potential as a player. He highlighted the need for Williams to humble himself and understand that past achievements in college do not automatically translate to success in the NFL.

“You can’t bring that Hollywood stuff into the building, especially with guys who have played the game at a high level for consecutive years — myself, Tremaine [Edmunds], TJ [Edwards], Keenan Allen. We going to see through that. What you did in college, the Hollywood, it’s like nah, you gotta prove yourself. That stuff, like, that doesn’t matter.”

Johnson stressed the importance of getting to know Caleb Williams on a personal level beyond his public persona. He believes that the QB will need to earn the respect of his teammates through his actions and attitude and not based on his past achievements.

Things can get a little difficult for Caleb Williams as he tries to gain respect in the locker room of the Bears. However, considering his past achievements and resilience, the QB is expected to thrive in this new venture of his life.
