Broncos vs Bills preseason matchup: preview, prediction, starting lineups, odds, picks, live stream, tv, injury report, weather

Saturday, the Buffalo Bills (1-0) will host the Denver Broncos (1-0). The game will begin at 1 p.m. ET (NFL Network). This season, both teams have extremely high expectations. This offseason, the Broncos signed star quarterback Russell Wilson. Wilson did not appear in the team’s Week 1 preseason win over the Cowboys at home.

The Broncos won 17-7, with QB Josh Johnson leading the way, going 16-for-23 for 172 yards and two touchdowns. Starting receivers and rushers should put up some numbers versus Buffalo.

The Bills, on the other side, defeated the visiting Colts 27-24 in one of the more exciting Week 1 games. Superstar quarterback Josh Allen was never going to play, and the Bills won despite a combined three interceptions by their quarterbacks.

Broncos vs Bills: prediction and picks

Prediction

Bills 21, Broncos 17

Money line

PASS.

In any case, there isn’t much value here, especially for Buffalo. We wouldn’t put money on a -320 preseason favorite.

Against the spread

BET BRONCOS +6.5 (-103).

Against the Cowboys, the Broncos looked strong on both sides of the field, and Johnson was outstanding. Johnson should have a comparable amount of success against a Bills secondary that doesn’t use its fantastic safety pair as much.

The value here is on Denver to cover at almost a touchdown. Despite winning their opener, the Bills looked terrible. Their quarterbacks tossed three interceptions, and with Allen not expected to play much, I expect Buffalo to have another difficult game.

Broncos vs Bills: injury report

Denver Broncos injuries

Billy Turner, an offensive lineman, missed his second straight practice as he continues to recover from a knee ailment. According to Hackett, Turner had previously been excused from class on Wednesday due to a personal concern. Turner was not seeing a different doctor, according to Hackett.

“He’s just getting extra treatment,” Hackett said. “We’re making sure he’s working through his knee and getting everything right so he can get back here and be full speed.”

Wide receiver Tyrie Cleveland (throat), safety Kareem Jackson (rest), inside linebacker Jonas Griffith (elbow), defensive end Marquiss Spencer (knee), guard Netane Muti (knee), and center Lloyd Cushenberry III (knee) were all held out. Cushenberry showed up to practice in a jersey but did not join the team in full pads or participate in the session.

KJ Hamler, a wide receiver, participated in individual drills and wore pads for the first time in several days. Tight end Greg Dulcich (hamstring) did not participate in practice after stretching.

Buffalo Bills injuries

Wide receiver Tavon Austin, defensive end DaQuan Jones, and linebacker Tyrel Dodson have all reportedly resumed their workouts, according to reports from the team’s radio partner WGR-550 radio on Tuesday. Von Miller, a pass rusher, was also back on the field. He wasn’t wounded, though. According to head coach Sean McDermott, Miller was excused due to personal matters.

Some negatives resurfaced on Wednesday. According to reports, defensive tackle Tim Settle, defensive lineman Kingsley Jonathan, safety Micah Hyde, and offensive lineman Spencer Brown were among those seen observing from the sidelines. All but Brown were engaging in modest exercise off the field, like riding a bike. The right tackle wasn’t dressed for practice.

In addition to the newly injured players with unknown injuries, receiver Marquez Stevenson (foot), safety Jordan Poyer (elbow), offensive lineman Tommy Doyle (foot), cornerback Tre’Davious White (PUP list), and offensive lineman Ike Boettger (PUP list) all remained on the sidelines.
