Bucs’ C Todd Bowles remains upbeat for 2023 season despite absence of Tom Brady’s influence

Tampa Bay Buccaneers head coach Todd Bowles expressed optimism for the upcoming 2023 season, despite the absence of the legendary quarterback Tom Brady.

In his three seasons with the Bucks, Brady earned the team a Super Bowl in 2021 and ensured the playoffs for the back-to-back seasons after 2002, albeit they struggled to continue the same level of accomplishments in the past couple of seasons as they sat bottom 10 in the league with 18.1 points per game, and an average of 76.9 rushing yards throughout the past season.

The NFL GOAT officially announced hanging up the boots for the second time this February, exactly one year after his first retirement decision, albeit this time the veteran QB seems not to make a U-turn.

What did Todd Bowles say about the Bucks’ future without Tom Brady?

The coach Todd Bowles opened up to NFL Media’s Judy Battista at the league’s annual meeting in Arizona about the post-Tom Brady era stating the Bucs are losing an “aura” of the five-time Super Bowl MVP.

“When you replace a player of that magnitude, first of all, you don’t replace him. You lose aura You lose the expectation of being great. That doesn’t mean you can’t be great. You just have to do it more as a team”, Bowles said.

The coach also expressed his optimism about overcoming the absence of the NFL GOAT and holds firm faith in his team too.

“We did it as a team when he was there, but he was such a great player and a great person that you focus all on that. And now that that is gone, the perception is that everything else is gone when really it isn’t”, he added.

The Bucks have made some significant changes to their roster in the offseason intending to improve a lackluster offense, including the signing of promising QB Baker Mayfield to compete with the veteran QB Kyle Trask, and the addition of new offensive coordinator Dave Canales.

Despite having some drawbacks, Bowler thinks with an incredible team effort the Bucs can bounce back in the league.

” We have a lot of good players on our team on both sides of the ball. We have some pieces to fill, but we have a lot of good football players on our team. And we just have to understand that and not go with the so-called outside narrative and do what we have to do to win ball games”, he added.

Todd Bowles’ positive outlook and confidence in the Buccaneers’ ability to succeed without Tom Brady’s influence should provide fans with a sense of hope and excitement as the team prepares for the upcoming 2023 season.

The Bucks’ faithful will undoubtedly be hoping that Bowles’ optimism translates to on-field success when the new season kicks off.
