Canelo Alvarez reportedly inked a three fight deal with Al Haymon’s PBC, claiming his upcoming match is ‘done deal’ for September

After convincingly defeating John Ryder in his comeback fight last month, Canelo Alvarez challenged Dmitry Bivol to a rematch. However, a few weeks ago, Bivol denied the Mexican boxer’s callout and made it clear that he wants to fight unified light heavyweight champion Artur Beterbiev next.

Following this news, Saul and his team were in conversations with Badou Jack and Jermall Charlo for the super middleweight champion’s next bout. However, no concrete news regarding his next move has been revealed yet.

Canelo Alvarez reportedly signed a three-fight deal with PBC

Just a few days after Badou Jack rejected Saul’s fight offer, the rumors of a Canelo Alvarez vs Jermall Charlo matchup skyrocketed. Because the super middleweight isn’t interested to fight David Benavidez next and that doesn’t leave him with a ton of options for his future bout.

However, one great news is the recent announcement of Canelo signing a three-fight deal with Premier Boxing Champions. ESPN journalist Mike Coppinger broke this news on his Twitter account and also revealed the Mexican’s next opponent. As per sources, Alvarez will defend his titles against Jermall Charlo.

Canelo Alvarez announces his fight date with possible opponent Jermall Charlo

Following the news of Canelo Alvarez joining hands with Al Haymon’s Premier Boxing Champions again, the Mexican super middleweight champion took to his Instagram handle to announce that he will make his return to the boxing ring in September this year. Saul’s Instagram story confirms the reports that he will fight Jermall Charlo on September 19th.

Canelo Alvarez is gunning to get back inside the ring as soon as possible and wants to face all the big names in the sport. He is very confident in his abilities after recovering from his lingering injuries. With that being said, Alvarez faces a serious challenge in the form of Jermall Charlo who is currently undefeated in professional boxing.

The Hitman has amassed a record of 32 wins and has a knockout ratio of 68.8%. This makes the matchup an exciting showdown as two of the hardest hitters go against each other for arguably the biggest prize in boxing.
