Canelo Alvarez is going to fight for WBA (Super) light heavyweight title one more time on May 7, 2022. This time he will be fighting Dmitry Bivol.
While Alvarez has bagged all four super middleweight titles, he will try to earn a light heavyweight title. However, previously he attempted for the title in 2019. But he got knocked out by Sergey Kovalev. So, Canelo moved up a weight class to challenge undefeated WBA light-heavyweight champion, Dmitry.
So, we will get to see the new Alvarez at 175 pounds tonight. Bivol is unbeaten and talented, and he will start the fight with a 19-0 record. Out of these 19 bouts, Bivol won 11 of them by knockout. Dmitry Bivol vs Canelo Alvarez Prediction
Alvarez deserves more credit as he moved up his weight to challenge Bivol. However, Bivol also got enough attention as he is an excellent combination of punches and knockouts. Moreover, he has good control of his body shots while also maintaining distance.
In terms of performance, both fighters have similar attributes, but Alvarez might face issues due to his height, as he is around 5 inches shorter than Dmitry. So, Bivol will get an advantage for sure, and he has a chance to win the bout. Therefore, we predict a win for Bivol via MD12.
