Chargers RB Austin Ekeler’s injury comes as shock

Los Angeles Chargers are packed with multiple injuries this season. When star running back Austin Ekeler was added to the injury list on Thursday with an abdominal problem, the Los Angeles Chargers’ injury issues took a turn for the worse. Ekeler’s inclusion to the list of already injured key players is a huge blow for the Chargers.

Daniel Popper of the Chargers reported that the team listed Ekeler as having an abdomen injury. Chargers fans were naturally shocked by the news as it’s still unknown when the injury occurred.

It goes without saying that losing him would be a challenge that would be very difficult to overcome. With games against the Falcons in Week 9 and the 49ers and Chiefs in the near future, getting Ekeler back to 100 percent will be absolutely essential.

Austin Ekeler’s participation in Friday’s practice will give fans a better idea of his condition before Sunday’s game in Atlanta because he was limited during the Chargers’ practice on Thursday. His situation will need to be monitored since mid-week downgrades are never a positive sign. Though if he remains limited, he could still play this week with a questionable label.

Ekeler, who leads the team in rushing yards, rushing touchdowns, receptions, and receiving touchdowns, is possibly the most versatile running back in the league. This season, he has amassed over 700 yards of offense and eight touchdowns altogether.
