Decades after WrestleMania 18 classic, CM Punk recreates iconic Rock vs Hulk Hogan moment in the very same arena

The Best in the World, Cm Punk had recently made his return to AEW company on the debut show of AEW Collision. The return of Cm Punk generated mixed reactions among the AEW Universe. However, Punk on the latest edition of AEW Collision, had re-created an iconic moment from WrestleMania 18 when Hulk Hogan and The Rock faced each other.

Hulk Hogan is one of the most famous names in the history of pro wrestling. Alongside his popularity, the legendary superstar move set is also something that only he can do.

Hulk Hogan faced The Rock at WrestleMania 18 in Toronto

At WrestleMania 18 which took place in Toronto, The Rock & Hulk Hogan faced each other in a highly anticipated match. The match was branded by WWE with the term Icon Vs Icon match. The feud building between both these stars is absolutely brilliant.

The match itself was also electrifying. The fans in attendance also knew that they were going to witness something truly special. During the whole match, Hogan was the fan favorite even after using evil tactics against The People Champion.

The match also had some pop moments, which includes when the Rock hits The Rock Bottom on Hogan to win but he still kicks out before three. In the end, The Rock secured the victory in the match despite the “Hulk up”.

CM Punk delivers leg drop in throwback moment

The former AEW World Champion has also delivered the iconic throwback moment during the latest edition of AEW Collision. The show took place in Canada, this is the reason why Punk received a mixed reaction from the crowd. Embracing the response, the former AEW world champion imitated Hollywood Hulk Hogan.

Cm Punk executed Hogan’s iconic Big Boot move, followed by the Hall of Famer’s trademark taunt, and capped it off with the Leg Drop. The throwback moment from the iconic match seems to be either tribute or mock against the legendary superstars because a few weeks back Cm Punk has called Hulk Hogan a “piece of sh*t” in the past.

During this match, Punk also had a face-off with Samoa Joe which also generated a huge heat among the crowd in the AEW Collision.

It will be interesting to see how things will turn out in All Elite Wrestling promotion as The best in the world is finally back in the company after multiple controversies backstage against The Elite and higher-up officials.
