DeMar DeRozan says that First Season with Chicago Bulls Was a “Dream Come True” Even after 116-100 Loss Against Bucks

DeMar DeRozan of the Chicago Bulls has said that his first season with the team has been a “Dream Come True”, despite being knocked out of the play-offs against the Bucks.

DeMar DeRozan joined the Chicago Bulls from the San Antonio Spurs back in 2021. He was one of the players that the bulls signed as they hoped to get a place in the playoffs for the first time in five years. While their goal was achieved, they were paired against defending champions Milwaukee Bucks in the first round of their playoff series.

This was always going to be a steep hill to climb given the experience and quality the Bucks have in their team. While the Bulls lost the first game of the series, they did come back in the second game to tie it at 1-1. This might have given some hope to the Bulls faithful, they were immediately brought back to Earth as the Bucks swept them straight in the next three games.

Despite the defeat, DeRozan remains upbeat, and positive, and is already looking forward to the next season.

“It’s been a great year… just being around the front office, teammates, the city, everything has been more than I could’ve imagined. It kind of exceeded your imagination. So it was great. I’m already looking forward to next year, getting out there and doing it again.”

On a personal level, DeRozan had a good season as well. He set a career-high with 27.9 points per game in his 13th NBA season. It is safe o say that the Bulls, too, have exceeded expectations this season. This lays the foundation for what be more successful seasons in the years to come. DeRozan could be the one leading the charge by then.
