Despite meeting LeBron James days ago, Vinicius Jr. bestows “number one” crown to Giannis Antetokounmpo in latest link-up

Well respected across the globe, Vinicius has now landed on the basketball court, meeting a host of NBA superstars.

After meeting LeBron James, Vinicius Jr. has now gone and met Giannis Antetokounmpo, stretching his already wide range of connections across sports. Vinicius tagged Giannis as the “number one” basketball player, as he received few souvenirs from the Greek superstar. Vinicius looks to be enjoying his holidays as a busy second half of the season stands ahead.

Vinicius Jr. links up with Giannis

Not long ago, and just a couple of days back to be precise, Vinicius Jr. met LeBron James and described himself as a fan of LeBron, mentioning his favorite team to be “wherever LeBron plays”. However, the Real Madrid attacker has taken a quick turn, and has now tagged Giannis Antetokounmpo as the “number one”.

The link-up also got Vinicius the “number one” tag by Giannis, besides a few other Christmas gifts. Along with his autographed shirt, the Greek Freak gave Vinicius Jr. his game-worn shoes. Before Antetokounmpo left for the locker room, the two exchanged a few words and gave each other a hug on the sidelines.

Both the superstars appreciated each other, as Giannis named Vinicius as the “number one Brazilian player”, to which the Brazilian returned the respectful remark by tagging Giannis as the best player.

After finishing an amazing 2023 as one of the best players in the year alongside Erling Haaland, Kylian Mbappe and Lionel Messi according to the fans, Vinicius Jr. is enjoying a much-deserved break in the United States. 

Along with LeBron James and Giannis Antetokounmpo, Vinicius has also connected with Jaylen Brown and Jayson Tatum of Boston Celtics and has been to a number of games. Vinicius has watched the Milwaukee Bucks play Brooklyn Nets and has also been to a Clippers game while on his US tour.

However, fans around the world have also found the funny side of it by comparing Vini’s collection to infinity stones. Users on X, formerly Twitter, could not wait but to comment on Vinicius’ latest visits, as an user wrote, “Bro is on a jersey collecting tour”, while another posted, “By the time vini goes to back to Spain he will have 50 pair of shoes and 50 signed Jerseys”.
