Erling Haaland lags behind PSG stars despite earning approximately £900k-a-week

There’s no doubt Erling Haaland has been a blessing for Manchester City with his dominating play in the Premier League, while already outperforming some of the best players in the league. Yet, the striker is still far behind the PSG stars in terms of earnings.

Before joining Manchester City, the Norwegian played for Borussia Dortmund, where he became the first player in history to score seven goals in their first three matches of the Bundesliga. Haaland also became the fastest player to score three hat-tricks, as well as the fastest individual to score 15 goals in Premier League history, after joining The Citizens. This terrific player is now one of the highest-paid players in 2022, with an income of nearly £ 900k a week.

While this elite striker has become the #1 forward among the individuals of Europe’s top five leagues this season, he is still lagging behind in terms of salary earnings among the PSG stars: Kylian Mbappe, Lionel Messi, and Neymar. Erling only made it to the top four of the highest paid players list in 2022, despite his staggering £865,000 salary.

This 22-year-old arrived at Man City with a £51 million release clause and is now making approximately £45 million a year. Whereas his PSG rival Neymar earns around £50 million per year, Messi and Mbappe earn around an astounding £58.5 million and £99 million per year, respectively.

The “Terminator Viking” of the City has been constant with his play and has raised the fans’ as well as the club’s expectations towards him. So, we can certainly expect his salary would soon be hiked in comparison to other best players parallel to his level.
