Ex-Manchester United teammate hails Cristiano Ronaldo’s milestone achievement with heartwarming message

Cristiano Ronaldo the Portuguese continue his legacy at the age of 38. The idol of millions of soccer players and the heartbeat of millions of fans in the world is continuing to entertain his fans. Ronaldo proved age is just a number for him. 

Last night the Portuguese legend made his 200th appearance in national colours and secure his team by scoring the winning goal. Portugal played an away fixture against Iceland for UEFA Euro 2024 qualifying round.

Iceland is able to prevent Portugal from scoring since the 89th minute of the game but then we saw the goat effect. Portugal dominate the whole match they took 11 shots in the game while 3 of them were on target. They also played more than 600 passes in the game.

Ronaldo was playing his 200th match for his nation and helped his team to secure a hard-fought win over Iceland. Portugal started the match in great fashion while the home team also went head-to-head with the 2020 Euro champions.

In the 80th minute, Willumsson saw the second yellow card of the match and Iceland go down to ten men. This drawback allow Portugal to create much more pressure on the home side, but the home side didn’t stop fighting.  

Iceland fought really hard with them and Portugal almost loosing their all-important away points. But in the end, their saviour saved them. Ronaldo scored on his 200th appearance which is an unbelievable individual achievement for any player. 

After the match, Ronaldo posts a video of himself on Instagram lifting the Euro Cup of 2020. In the video, he adds a beautiful caption which expresses his joy after playing 200 fixtures for his nation. 

He already became the player with the most international appearance and this match add more glory to his legacy. In his post, his former teammate and Manchester United player commented and express his love and respect for the genius.

Harry Maguire wrote “some achievement” along with emojis of clapping hands and fire in the video of Ronaldo. Maguire was his teammate and they had a very good relationship during their time in United.

As CR7 is getting he is becoming more powerful. He is 38 now but he can do what a 20-year-old boy can. He is still the best player for his team, instead of promising young talents in the Portugal squad in the likes of Rafael Leao, Diago Jota, and Jao Felix. 

Being the first priority of the national team is not everyone’s cup of tea. The match is almost getting slipped from the hands of Portugal.

But in the 88th minute, a cross comes in from the middle of the pitch and Inacio head the ball down to Ronaldo’s path and he didn’t make any mistake to slot it home.

Although the goal was disallowed first due to offside after VAR checking the goal stands and it proved to be the match winner.
