Fans shocked as 54-year-old soccer analyst Shaka Hislop collapses on live TV at Real Madrid vs AC Milan

Yesterday, as part of their pre season tour in the United States of America, Real Madrid faced off against AC Milan in the Rose Bowl stadium in California. The match ended 3-2 in favor of the Los Blancos, but another incident has now captured the attention of soccer fans everywhere.

The shocking scenes took place during that match, causing much concern. A renowned TV presenter covering the match collapsed on the set while the camera was rolling, who was none other than former West Ham player, Shaka Hislop.

Shaka Hislop faints at Real Madrid vs AC Milan friendly

Shaka Hislop was working as a soccer analyst for ESPN and was covering the Real Madrid vs AC Milan friendly. He was there for the pre-match talk along with fellow TV presenter Dan Thomas. The former goalkeeper seemed to be in fine condition but suddenly fainted and fell to the ground. ESPN was quick to move him away from the scene as Dan called for help.

It is unknown what actually caused Hislop to faint. The temperature in California may have played a part, as it was more than 30 degrees Celsius at the time. Also, he is 54 years old now.

According to the Daily Mail, Dan Thomas gave an update on the situation during the halftime talk. He said, “My mate, Shaka, not here, but as it stands, it’s good news. He’s conscious. He’s talking. I think he’s a little embarrassed about it all. He’s apologised profusely. Not a man who likes people to make a fuss of him.”

Dan also said it was too early to make out a reason for the fainting.

“Obviously far too early to make any sort of diagnosis, but the important thing is that Shaka’s conscious and we spoke to his family as well, because you imagine seeing that happen live.”
