Former gold medalist with Team USA, Lakers ace LeBron James teases fans on possible return to national squad for 2024 Paris Olympics

LeBron James is undoubtedly one of the biggest names in the basketball world, and every NBA fan is familiar with King James. While he’s achieved numerous accolades in the league, his recent international success has been limited.

Team USA, traditionally a strong contender in the FIBA World Cup, was expected to dominate. However, under Steve Kerr’s leadership, they fell short against Germany, leaving us wondering if future Team USA lineups will boast more star power than the mid-level players we saw this time.

LeBron James teases fans with cryptic comment

After the Germans triumphed over the Americans, fans were disappointed. However, soon people began speculating about what the Team USA lineup could have been if all the big names had played and represented their country.

Dunk Central created an image showcasing the potential lineup for the 2024 Olympics in Paris, featuring a star-studded lineup with the likes Stephen Curry, Kevin Durant, and LeBron James. It was during this moment that King James dropped a hint, leading people to speculate about a possible return of the Lakers’ ace to the international scene.

In the post shared by SportsCenter, King James dropped the eye emoji, igniting fervent discussions about a potential Olympic return. However, it seems unlikely that, at the age of 38, LeBron would consider playing anywhere other than the NBA, having already proven himself with the national team multiple times. But then again, it’s King James, and anything can happen.

How many Olympic gold medals has LeBron James won?

‘The L-Train’ has three Olympic gold medals to his name, securing them consecutively in the years 2008, 2012, and 2016. This demonstrates that he can be the same caliber of player outside the NBA as well.

‘The Akron Hammer’ delivered stellar performances in all of the Olympics he participated in, except for his debut Olympics in 2004, where he secured the bronze medal. With four NBA championships, four MVP awards, four Finals MVP awards, and three Olympic gold medals to his name, James is undeniably one of the most decorated players in basketball history. These achievements firmly place him in the argument for being the greatest of all time.

Do you believe LeBron James will compete in the 2024 Olympics? If he does, do you believe he can add another gold medal to his tally of four? Share your thoughts with us in the comment section.
