Former Boston Celtics Superstar Glen Davis, also known as “Big Baby” has always been a massive entertainer for the fans both on and off the court. However, the 2008 NBA Champion recently was targeted online due to an offensive joke he made on his Instagram.
Glen Davis defended himself in his recent Instagram stories that he is a standup comedian, insisting that the joke he made was old and the fans were reposting the video repeatedly to make the video look like it was recent.

Glen Davis has been getting heavily criticized online due to the distasteful joke that he shared on Instagram. Davis has often posted videos of him telling hilarious jokes, but this time he went overboard and seemingly crossed a line.
In the controversial video, Davis said that he was apparently turned on by the perfume a woman was wearing on the elevator. Davis has made such comments in the past as he often tries his hands on dark comedy.
But the problematic part of the viral video came when he went on to say that he was so turned on by the perfume that it made him want to r*pe the woman. This offensive statement led to a massive backlash from his own fans with some even urging to lock him up.
It is not the first time an NBA Superstar is involved in a controversy for their comments, but it certainly is the first time for Davis, the former Louisiana Mr. Basketball who also aspires to be a big name in the comedy circuit.
Glen Davis apologizes for bad r*pe joke
Davis later made another video of him which he uploaded on his Instagram stories apologizing to his fans. He said, “First of all, I want to say I’m sorry to all rape victims or anybody that felt any type of way about what I said.”
Davis also insisted that he is a comedian and sometimes he might say stuff that is a little bit wrong. He added that it’s ridiculous how people decided to use the video against him which he had deleted a long time ago.
Although Glen Davis clarified that the video was old, but it was still a joke that was demeaning and disgusting towards women. Davis’s fans advised him to continue his comedy. He should be careful about what he puts out on the internet as a public figure and not tarnish his legacy of being an NBA legend that the upcoming generation looks up to.
