Former Real Madrid icon lavishes praise on Jude Bellingham, emphasizing 20-year-old is on track to win the Ballon d’Or in the future

Jude Bellingham has already made a big impact at his new club Real Madrid after a big money transfer from Borussia Dortmund. The talented midfielder has already helped them win many games, including scoring a dramatic late winner against Getafe.

Already the fans of Bernabeu have showered their love for the player, who has made an impact both on and off the pitch. This has also earned him praise from rival fans as well as former professionals. In fact, a former Real Madrid legend has praised his team’s new superstar, and that is none other than 5-time UCL winner Gareth Bale, who has seen all of it during his long spell at the Spanish capital.

Gareth Bale praises Jude Bellingham

In an interview with Sky Sports, the former Wales captain was asked about his former team’s new player Jude Bellingham. He was specifically asked if he believed that Bellingham could win the Ballon d’Or one day.

He replied, saying that Bellingham is simply unstoppable, “The sky is the limit for him if he keeps doing what he is doing.”

He was also asked about the player’s bright start at the club, “I haven’t seen a lot, but he has made a great start, scoring a lot of goals which is important at a club like Madrid. He’s doing well. I hope he keeps on going and makes Britain proud.”

Gareth Bale had spent 9 years at Madrid, after a world-record move from Tottenham in 2013. He scored 106 goals in 258 games, winning 5 UCL trophies, 3 La Liga trophies, and numerous others. He retired earlier this year, after a brief spell with the MLS team LAFC.

Bellingham had already established himself as a great player, winning the 2023 Bundesliga Player of the Year award for Borussia Dortmund. He then comfortably fit into Carlo Ancelotti’s team as if he was playing there for a long time.

He made a great start in the Santiago Bernabeu, scoring 5 goals and an assist in just four La Liga games. Three of those goals were game-winning goals, showing how much of an impact he has had at the club.

Furthermore, he was given the Man of the Match award in three of those games. The last player to score four goals in his first four games for the club was the legendary Cristiano Ronaldo. Bellingham is currently leading the La Liga goal-scoring charts.

He has also been great for England on the international stage, impressing during the 2022 FIFA World Cup. He also scored in England’s 3-1 win against Scotland.

Bellingham was therefore included in the current Ballon d’Or nomination list released by France Football for his achievements. While he may not win the top prize, he has a good chance of winning the Golden Boy award this year.

Bellingham will now return to Madrid, where Real will play against Real Sociedad on Monday.
