Gerard Pique accidentally leaks ex-Barcelona icon’s retirement news revealing “Bojan will say goodbye on Thursday, at the Nou Camp”
Gerard Pique scored an own goal when he accidentally revealed that an ex-Barcelona player would be retiring. The player in question is Bojan Krkic.
Gerard Pique, now 36 also announced his own retirement back in November. He played his last game for Barcelona retiring as a club legend there. After retirement Gerard has become fully devoted to his organization King’s League, a seven-a-side league.
He created it in 2022 with other known soccer celebrities and YouTubers like Iker Casillas and Sergio Aguero. Regularly they join each other in the Kings League discussions, which makes for entertaining content. He is also currently embroiled in controversy after the high-profile breakup with his ex-wife Shakira after he was caught cheating on her.
What did Gerard Pique do?
Gerard Pique managed to again hit headlines as he accidentally revealed ex-Barcelona teammate Bojan Krkic’s retirement plans before Bojan could announce it publicly himself.
Pique was involved in a heavy discussion about the King’s League, which was also being streamed live on Twitch. Boajn himself was part of the Twitch stream. Another member of the discussion and Spanish internet celebrity Ibai Llanos commented that Bojan didn’t look too happy.
Pique quickly blurted out, “Bojan is saying goodbye on Thursday, he’s retiring at Camp Nou. I’m going to the event.”
The statement took everyone by surprise and everyone went silent for a while. It was soon evident that Pique was not supposed to have said that.

Who is Bojan Krkic?
Bojan was an ex-Barca player who came through the ranks of La Masia. He won the Spanish league title four times and the Champions League twice during Barcelona’s golden period between 2008-2011. Once touted as Lionel Messi’s replacement, he failed to live up to expectations.
He even played in the Premier League when he joined Stoke City after failing to be an impact at Barca. His most recent playing club was the Japanese club Vissel Kobe where even Barca legend Andres Iniesta plays. However, he was released in December 2022.
Bojan has been involved in other pursuits since then. He has fallen in love with a new sport- gravel cycling though he hasn’t announced his decision to retire from football at all.
Pique came through the ranks of La Masia and had left for Manchester United but came back in 2008. He became a soccer superstar during his time there. He won every trophy possible there including four Champions League, eight La Ligas, and two historic trebles. Pique was also a pivotal part of the Spain 2010 World Cup-winning team and the 2012 Euro-winning team.
