Grizzlies HC Taylor Jenkins drops shock bomb to Ja Morant fans with “not putting timetable” on his return after two games suspension

The Memphis Grizzlies star Ja Morant is suspended for two games against Los Angeles Clippers and Lakers, after appearing inappropriately on an Instagram live with a gun.

After suffering a loss against the Denver Nuggets on Friday, the Grizzlies star went to a strip club with others to shake off the feeling. However, in one moment the player came live on Instagram with a gun and made an inappropriate gesture with the firearm.

Following such antics, the Grizzlies issued that suspension, and Morant also issued an apology statement before deactivating his social media accounts.

When will Ja Morant be back?

Despite the franchise’s suspension, the NBA also investigated any foul play committed by the 23-year-old. It isn’t still decided what the league authority might decide but there was a distinctive record of sanctions for such behaviors.

In response to a question regarding Ja’s possible return date, the Grizzlies coach Taylor Jenkins failed to provide any specific timeline. “There’s not a definitive timeline… this is going to be an ongoing healing process… it’s not a timetable situation,” he said.

Coach Jenkins also denied the request to share the details of the conversation he had with the 6.2-footed point guard for the sake of privacy. However, the blurry future might be an indication of severe consequences incoming for the PG.

Ja joined the franchise after they picked him second overall at the 2019 NBA draft. Since then, the athlete was named to the all-star team twice, NBA’s most improved player of the year in 2022, and rookie of the year in 2020.

Morant also kept a high bar of decent performance throughout the season; scored on average 27.1 points with 6.0 rebounds and 8.2 assists per game in 53 appearances this season.

What do you think about Ja Morant’s possible return date? Is he going to face more suspension? Let us know your thoughts in the comments.

  1. Quit saying he out of game for “healing”. THIS IS A CASE OF BEING A THUG. HE IS 23 NOT A KID. HE IS OLD ENOUGH TO SERVE IN THE MILITARY, TO vote AND TO BUY ALCOHOL. This is all about the benjamins for the NBA and Nike. Suspend his ass.

  2. I know Ja should be disciplined, but with an intent if he’s caught with a weapon again while at any NBA facility he should be charged and suspended indefinite. He should be granted a second chance.
