‘His Time Is Up’ Kylian Mbappé’s Mother Shares Her Son’s Dream to Play for Real Madrid after Departure from PSG

The mother of Kylian Mbappe said her son’s “time is up” when asked about the reasons behind her son wanting to leave Paris Saint Germain.

Kylian Mbappe and Real Madrid seem to be the inevitable love story that will happen sooner or later. But as of now, the Frenchman is still a part of the roster at the Parc De Princes. Mbappe has never hidden his admiration for Real Madrid. He is also a big fan of Real Madrid and Portuguese legend Cristiano Ronaldo.

Ever since the arrival of Lionel Messi at PSG, news has surfaced that Mbappe wants to leave Paris. Some have speculated that the arrival of Messi will overshadow the presence of Mbappe, and the former Monaco man wants to leave.

Mbappe’s contract with the Parisians expires at the end of the 2021/22 season. He was expected to join Madrid last summer as PSG might want to let him go for free. But Mbappe was convinced to stay for the season. He might have been keen to join the Los Blancos for free.

In an interview with Le Parisien, Mbappé’s mother, Fayza Lamari, spoke to the French media outlet. She discussed why her son was pondering a departure from the capital club this summer. Lamari mentions that it’s his dream to play for PSG and Real Madrid; Mbappé wanted to leave this summer because he wished the Ligue 1 side would receive compensation from his departure.

“This is already his 5th season in Paris. He took time to think because he also had the possibility of prolonging, it is always possible besides because nobody can claim to know the future. If he asked to leave, it is because his time is up. We did not want to go free so we wanted to bring his departure forward by one year so that the club could receive compensation. We cannot then be reproached for leaving free.”

“But I understand that PSG wants to keep Kylian. I also do not forget that his transfer from Monaco to PSG in 2017 blocked at €145 million and it was Nasser (Al-Khelaïfi, president of PSG) who had made it possible to raise the Parisian proposal to €180 million on August 31. I also understand that the supporters are not happy. But he has dreams of playing for both PSG and Real Madrid.”
