‘I’d love it’ Barcelona star admits having Lionel Messi back would be ‘very special’

Barcelona breakout star Ronald Araujo is thrilled to welcome the Argentine superstar Lionel Messi if the World Cup winner makes a comeback to the club.

Lionel Messi will be out of contract with PSG in June as the seven-time Ballon d’Or winner is not interested to extend his contract with the French Champions which opens a potential move back to Barcelona.

Many Blaugrana fans as well as the players are super excited about the news of homecoming for the greatest player of all time and the 23-year-old Uruguyan is augmented talking about him.

Ronald Araujo was signed by Barcelona in the summer of 2018 from the Uruguayan club Boston River and played a brief time with Lionel Messi as a teammate.

The Uruguayan initially joined the Barcelona B team, but his impressive performances earned him a promotion to the first team in the 2019-20 season.

“Messi’s return? We’ll see, but I’d love it. Leo’s return will be very special.’- the 23-year-old told Gerard Romero’s Jijantes FC.

“He is the best player in the world and we will be happy if he can come back. If I was Mateu Alemany [Barca’s director of football], I would sign Rodrigo Bentancur and Leo Messi.”- Araujo further added.

Lionel Messi is the greatest player Blaugrana ever has as the little magician holds numerous records with the club and is arguably the most loved player among the fans.

Messi is the All-time top scorer for Barcelona after scoring 672 goals in 778 appearances and also holds the record for most goals in a calendar year with 91 goals in 69 games in 2012, breaking Gerd Muller’s previous record of 85 goals in 60 games.

Messi has won the Ballon d’Or award 7 times which is the most by any player in the history of the game and also registered 36 hat-tricks in La Liga during his career at Barcelona.

It will be interesting to see how Messi reacts to the rumor of him joining his favorite place once again and the fans will desperately want their main man back.
