“It’s Harder to Watch My Son Than Marking Andy Robertson” Real Madrid Midfielder Fede Valverde Rips off Liverpool Left-Back After UCL Win

Real Madrid midfielder Federico Valverde has thrown some shade at Liverpool full-back Andy Robertson saying that it is harder to watch his son than mark Andy Robertson.

Federico Valverde played a key role as Real Madrid secured their 14th Champions League victory, as the Uruguayan provided the assist for Vinicius Jr. to score. Valverde spoke press at the Stade De France after the game, with his son on his shoulders. But the boy was not sitting still and continued to try to grab his father’s medal, leaving the Real star to focus more on him than the interview he was giving.

Valverde started on the right hand side, and had to come up against Liverpool left-back Andy Robertson. Robertson is considered as one of the top left-backs in the world, but Uruguayan maybe thinks otherwise. He kept Robertson quiet all night. When asked about how he marked the Scotsman, the 23-year old said, jokingly, ” Watching my son is harder work than marking Robertson.”

The response has elicited a lot of reactions, with some Liverpool fans understandably being upset with the comment.

Valverde was also asked about his assist, and he was honest enough to say that it was actually a shot on goal that became the pass, “I approached the area, threw the ball, it ended up as an extraordinary pass and Vinicius made it look even better.”
