Jude Bellingham returns from injury to power Real Madrid to victory against Napoli in UCL

Jude Bellingham has hit the ground running immediately after his return from injury. The 20-year-old midfielder is in the form of his life at the moment and is setting the bar very high for other sensations to meet. His return from injury in the Champions League turned out to be sweet for Real Madrid, as the current Kopa Trophy holder registered another goal to his already outstanding statistics.

Real Madrid and Napoli played a 4-2 thriller at the Santiago Bernabeu, as Los Blancos got bragging rights over, arguably, the toughest opponents in their group. Goals from Rodrydo, Jude Bellingham, Nicolas Paz and Joselu made sure Madrid’s 100% record in the group stage was maintained. Napoli, however, pushed Madrid to its limits, just like the reverse fixture in October.

Jude Bellingham shines against Napoli

Another game, another Jude Bellingham masterclass delivered. It seems like there is no stopping him at the moment. The England international netted a top-class header to give Real Madrid the lead at the halfway mark of the first half against a very motivated Napoli.

Bellingham, after the goal on Wednesday, has 10 UCL goals already to his name and joined an elite list of players to reach that feat in such a short time. Bellingham, who has been compared to Messi and Ronaldo at times, adds to the hype created as he shows he can score all types of goals with that beautiful header.

Bellingham’s stats are not only restricted to goals, as he assisted another one against Napoli, taking his total assists to four for the season, half of which have come in UCL.

Real Madrid advances to UCL round of 16

Real Madrid remain the force to stop this season, as Ancelotti’s men have cruised past the group stage and into the Round of 16 without dropping a single point after five games.

Real Madrid this season has lost just once out of the total 19 matches played in all competitions. Madrid are top in both La Liga and the UCL group, establishing themselves as one of the favorites to go all the way this season.

Real Madrid, in order to advance to the next round, had to come from a goal behind to lead twice against Napoli in an edge-of-the seat encounter. Rodrygo equalized right after Napoli got the lead, followed by a goal from Bellingham. Late goals from Paz and Joselu ensured the 14-time champions reached the next round without obstacles.
