Lakers legend Kareem Abdul-Jabbar bashes Kevin McCarthy after dangerous tape released “putting America in jeopardy”

Kareem Abdul Jabbar, the NBA’s first GOAT, is very active in social awareness and has never been known to back down from direct confrontation with any controversial action taken by political figures.

Kareem is mostly popular for his opinions and the straight perspective revealed in his writing on Kareem Substack. The blog focuses on the social discrimination of minority races and genders. However, recently, he also took a shot at a White House politician for his controversial action.

The person in the context is the Speaker of the United States House of Representatives, Kevin McCarty, who allegedly leaked a huge amount of surveillance footage of the attack on Capitol Hill.

What did Kareem Abdul Jabbar say of Kevin McCarthy?

The 75-year-old former NBA athlete accused the Republican of being inconsiderate about his action, especially in supplying the footage to a journalist. Kareem is explicitly concerned about the leaked tape, which might reveal security risks at Capitol Hill.

“But now he’s putting the country in jeopardy by releasing tapes without vetting them for security risks to the Capitol complex, which has already been invaded once,” the six-time NBA champion said.

“If he really believed these tapes ‘belong to the American public,’ then he would have released them to all the major news outlets at the same time,” Abdul Jabbar added. “thereby insuring most of the public would see them.

“Instead, he sold them to Fox, not for money, but for the money equivalent of positive reporting regarding him and his cronies,” the Los Angeles Lakers legend concluded.

In the last month, McCarthy provided fox’s Tucker Carlson with a surveillance tape containing approximately 40000 hours of footage of Capitol Hill at the time of the 2021 attack. The journalist has also been bashed by the 19-time NBA all-star for his racist perception.

Kevin was the house minority leader during the time of the attack on January, 2021, and followed his mentor’s path by becoming the Speaker of the United States House of Representatives on January 7, 2023. His power or influence, however, did not prevent him from receiving the stick from the legendary player.

  1. McCarthy used to stand for something great but he has diminished the party and his own standing by his pro trump position. Long ago lost confidence and respect

  2. I agree with what Jabbar said.
But also given that McCarthy is probably the worst Speaker our Country has ever had because he’s letting the most unintelligent people in his party dictate what he can and cannot do or say.
Simply put he’s really to much of a coward to be a effective leader.

  6. McCarthy is a ring-kissing, compromised, white-collar right wing extremist in moderate clothing. Kareem is right on point with his comments. How does McCarthy sleep at night?

  10. Pelosi can pick and choose witch portions of the tapes to release. Why can’t the right do the same thing. At least Tucker will show everything good or bad.

  11. Kevin McCarthy should be ashamed of himself. Handing over the surveillance tapes to Tucker Carlson is unconscionable. God knows what he’ll leak next to curry favor with someone/something he needs.

  12. I didn’t know about this until just now but I agree with Kareem. In this modern age we know how footage can be used in so many ways and Kevin McCarthy should know as well. More interesting is why only Fox provided? It seems our leaders don’t Love America as much as they should.

  13. I agree. McCarthy weakness is power, and he sold the safety of others to the devil, a lesson will be learned from this in the future. My mom always told us, if you make a deal with the devil he’s coming back for his pay.

  15. Kevin McCarthy works on Capitol Hill, not at the White House.
He is also a sniveling coward who has done Trump’s bidding for years.

  16. Sadly Jabar doesn’t question the actions of Nancy Pelosi and Adam Schiff. These two have been identified as liars and leakers of disinformation. McCarthy is allowing the media to review 40,000 hours of video, which tells the whole story. Not snippets of what happened.

Schiff intentionally avoided the truth and lied during the J6 hearings. Corruption in Congress is rampant under the Democrats, and some Republicans.

Jabar needs to research and know the truth before opening his mouth. If he supports Maxine Waters we know his lying sources are Schiff, Sawall and Pelosi.

  19. Kareem has the same leftist opinions as other democrats. If this tape would have beeb given to CNN, then his opinion would have favorable. Normal liberal.

  20. I have to agree, as a former military vet and also data security operator, he should have had it reviewed prior to releasing the tapes and released it to all news media. Unless he had other motivating factors.
