Lionel Messi, Cristiano Ronaldo unable to achieve milstone Spur’s Harry Kane’s reached alongside Robert Lewandowski

Harry Kane has done something that neither Lionel Messi nor Cristiano Ronaldo has ever done with the striker scoring 20 goals for Tottenham Hotspur this season.

The Tottenham superstar scored in his most recent appearance against Chelsea, helping to seal a 2-0 victory that has heaped pressure on under-fire Chelsea manager Graham Potter. Kane now has 20 goals in all competitions for the season, a feat only he and prolific Barcelona forward Lewandowski have accomplished in nine successive seasons in Europe’s top five leagues.

Lewandowski has also already scored 25 goals for Barcelona this season after joining them from Bayern the previous summer.

Former Manchester United striker Ronaldo will not be extending his own outstanding record, having joined Saudi Arabian side Al-Nassr, while seven-time Ballon d’Or winner Messi only scored 11 goals for Paris Saint-Germain in the 2021-22 season.

Kane has also surpassed the great Jimmy Greaves as Spurs’ all-time leading scorer this season, and he just needs one more goal for England’s national team to surpass Wayne Rooney on the Three Lions’ all-time list.

On Sunday, Harry Kane donned unique customized boots against Chelsea to commemorate breaking Jimmy Greaves’ goal scoring record at Tottenham. Kane was also welcomed on the pitch by Greaves’s wife Irene and daughter Mitzi Robinson and another Spurs legend and ex captain Ledley King who gave him a trophy.

Kane spoke in the post game press conference, “We find ourselves in a pretty good spot in fourth. We are still in the FA Cup and the Champions League. We got a lot to play for and we need to stay focused on that, we have a week to the Chelsea game so hopefully, we will be ready.”

Tottenham dominated struggling rivals Chelsea with midfielder Oliver Skipp scoring the opener right as the second half started. Kane then finished the game with a goal in the 82nd minute assisted by Eric Dier. The win put them in the fourth position in the Premier League as Antonio Conte’s men look to achieve Premier League football.

Tottenham will face Sheffield United next in the FA Cup on Thursday and face Wolverhampton Wolves in the Premier League on Saturday.
