Lionel Messi officially unveiled as Inter Miami’s new number 10 in MLS

Inter Miami have unveiled their brand new number 10, the mercurial Argentine forward, Lionel Messi. The MLS side has beaten other suitors from Saudi Arabia and Europe to snap the little magician. Messi will now entertain soccer fans in the United States with his supreme skill, technique, and finishing. 

Messi’s ex-Barcelona teammate and friend, Sergio Busquets has also joined Inter Miami after ending his trophy-laden 18-year stint at Barcelona. The rumor mill has also suggested that the David Beckham co-owned soccer club is looking at Leo’s ex-teammates Jordi Alba, Luis Suarez, and Sergio Ramos as potential additions to their squad

The little magician won everything there is to win in football by winning the 2022 World Cup with Argentina. In his 19-year career in Europe, La Pulga has scored over 500 goals and assisted more than 250 times. Moreover, the forward has won league titles and league cups in both Spain and France with FC Barcelona and PSG respectively.

Inter Miami’s newest star man also has 4 UEFA Champions League titles under his belt, with his latest one being a treble under new PSG manager Luis Enrique in 2015. Inter Miami confirmed Messi’s signing with his official pictures in the jersey yesterday. The club has also confirmed that Messi has signed a 2-year deal valid till 2025. The whole package will see Leo take home a hefty sum of money, ranging between $125 – $150 million depending upon completion of variables in his contract.

Inter Miami’s new head coach, Gerardo “Tata” Martino has already worked with the Argentinian great twice before, in Barcelona and the Argentina national team. The pair reached the finals of the Copa America twice and have a good working relationship.
