Liverpool’s Fabinho unveils crucial players they’ve been missing amid Merseyside outfit’s stuttering campaign

Liverpool has been through a rough patch of time following their dismal performances since the start of the current campaign as Brazilian Fabinho revealed some bitter truth after claiming they missed crucial players at the very important phase of the season.

Jurgen Klopp managed the Liverpool side brilliantly after his arrival at the Merseyside club but failed to have a similar impact this season following Liverpool’s misery to win the games as they tend to do.

Liverpool missed some vital players through injury which hindered their process of progression as they are currently sitting on sixth, thanks to the back-to-back win against Everton and Newcastle united.

Virgil van Dijk is back from the hamstring injury he suffered against Brentford earlier and the Dutchman is very crucial to the team due to his superior presence both on the pitch and outside of the pitch.

Fabinho speaks highly about the importance of the big center back as they lacked a little bit of control over the team when Virgil is not in the field.

“I think sometimes in the season, we missed a little bit of leadership on the pitch. Virgil [Van Dijk] is one of the leaders in this group, as Jordan Henderson is as well – James Milner [too]. Having these players on the pitch is always important. You know they will be loud, they will talk to the team, try to organize the team.”- Fabinho explained.

Van Dijk is arguably one of the best center backs in the world as he is so composed and often made some staggering defending and previously rescued Liverpool in so many occasions.

“Virgil, he’s the best center-half in the world. He’s really important for us. Set pieces, he’s someone always winning almost every ball. Yes, I’m very happy to have him back and playing at this level.”- Fabinho further added.

Liverpool may be dreaming of a top four finish after showing promise to come back into winning form and players returning to the squad will ease some pressure as they look to break games one by one.
