Adrien Rabiot was close to joining Manchester United last summer. However, a deal couldn’t be agreed, thanks to the player’s agent and mother, Veronique Rabiot, who was a stubborn negotiator. And with the Mason Mount transfer hitting a major snag, Erik Ten Hag has turned his attention to Adrien Rabiot for the second summer running.
Man Utd have already had three bids turned down for Mason Mount, and it is highly unlikely they go back with a fourth. Chelsea wants $70 million for their star man, but United likely won’t be paying that much when there are other priority signings to be made before the season begins.
Adrien Rabiot to Man Utd Rumors
Man Utd is rumored to be turning to Adrien Rabiot to strengthen the midfield and provide that much-needed cover for current midfield players. Adrien Rabiot’s representatives have been contacted over a possible switch to the English top flight. The Frenchman’s contract with the Serie A giants expires in June, after which he can choose to play for any club of his choice.
Adrien Rabiot would be a smart signing especially when he’s available for free

Negotiations won’t be easy for United as everyone wants to make the most of their reputation as one of the biggest clubs in the world to get bumper contracts. The feeling is that Mason Mount remains a target, and Chelsea will soften their stance on the transfer fee and grant Mason Mount his wish to leave for Old Trafford this summer.
Adrien Rabiot won’t get a shortage of suitors for his signature. At 28, he is at the peak of his career and has a good chance of still playing at the highest level for another five years. Clubs will be circling him, and even the possibility of heading out to the Middle East to earn more money is not ruled out.
Adrien Rabiot or Mason Mount – Who Should Man Utd Sign?
This is a difficult choice for those at Old Trafford as their hands have been forced to choose whether to return with a fourth and improved bid for 24-year-old Mason Mount or offer a bumper contract and a huge signing-on fee for 28-year-old Adrien Rabiot.
Mason Mount looks to be a more sensible choice for United. There’s a reason Erik ten Hag wants him; he fits the style of play they want to implement at United. He also has his fellow countrymen in the club, making him settle in easier. He’s close friends with Luke Shaw and Marcus Rashford.
On the other hand, Adrien Rabiot won’t be a bad choice either. He played a huge part in France’s dazzling run to the World Cup final last December.
