Manchester United striker Marcus Rashford receives £574 fine, six-points on license after confessing to speeding in his £670,000 Mercedes last year

Manchester United player Marcus Rahsford has received a fine of £574 and given six points on his driving license after being found guilty of speeding.

The crime happened last year’s May at the Manchester City Centre. The forward was found speeding the 20 mph limit there. He drove a £670,000 Mercedes G VRM which he has sold last month for reportedly half the price. He had admitted to the crime leading to him receiving the fine and the points on his license.

The six points on his license mean the forward has to be more careful while driving from now on. If he has 12 points on his license in the next 3 years it would mean that his driving license will be revoked. Points remain on a license for at least four years.

The incident happened at the end of the 2021-22 season. He had just lost his squad status in the England national team and had a difficult season for Manchester United with just five goals.

This season Marcus has turned things around. He has scored 20 goals in all competitions under the tutelage of Erik Ten Haag. He also participated in the Qatar World Cup and was England’s highest scorer with Bukayo Saka at three goals.

Recently, he scored in the 2-2 draw at home against Leeds United. The goal meant that he matched an 11-year-old club record of having a goal in six straight Premier League games at Old Trafford. The record is shared by United legend Wayne Rooney.

The 25-year-old’s success on the pitch comes at a crucial time after club legend Cristiano Ronaldo left the club. The talisman was their top scorer last season and someone was needed to replace those goals.

Manchester United has also had a great rise this season thanks to Marcus speeding on the pitch. They are currently top four in the Premier League and also in the Carabao Cup final against Newcastle United.

They face Barcelona in the Europa League and West Ham in the FA Cup. They now face Leeds United away in the Premier League on Sunday.
