“My tribe says hello”: Kyrie Irving claps back at critics with a cryptic message following Mavs’ re-signing

The first player in the National Basketball Association’s history to score 50 points or more in a franchise debut was Kyrie Irving. This summer, he doesn’t want to be the focus of rife NBA trade and free agency rumors.

The unrestricted free agent All-Star point guard expressed his dislike for the speculation that has been circling around him on social media, urging people to disregard it and stating that he is not in a haste to make a decision about his future.

Kyrie Irving Responds to Bill Simmons’ Criticism

Many people anticipated Kyrie Irving, the star of the NBA 2023 Free Agency, to sign on with a fresh team on day one of free agency. Irving did, however, opt to sign a new contract with the Dallas Mavericks, elevating the team to potential playoff contention. Many fans responded to Irving’s three-year, $126 million contract with the Mavericks on social media.

Bill Simmons, a strong supporter of the Boston Celtics, was one of the spectators who chose to react. “Dallas had to go to 3 for 126m for Kyrie because there were at least 3 other teams ready to offer 2 for 25.” – Tweeted Simmons. Irving opted to respond to Simmons when he saw the opportunity.

“I see you couldn’t help yourself with this one huh Billy Boy,” Irving replied. “Just wanna say I appreciate you and continue to be the person you are. My Tribe says hello.”

Prior to underwriting with the Brooklyn Nets in 2019, Kyrie spent two seasons with the Boston Celtics. Fans of the team don’t seem quite ready to forgive him yet because of his anything-but-gracious exit from the franchise.

When did Kyrie Irving go to Mavs?

In the first hour of NBA free agency on June 30, the mysterious guard and the Dallas Mavericks reached an agreement on a three-year contract of $126M, an individual with details on the matter divulged to the Associated Press. Considering the fact that contracts couldn’t be signed until Thursday, the individual spoke on the condition of anonymity.

The Mavericks and guard Seth Curry, who will be making his third appearance with the team, also reached an agreement on a two-year contract, the source claimed. Irving looked to be referring to his choice to clap back in a single-word tweet with the “love” and “peace” emojis.

Irving refused to speak further throughout his brief season with the Mavs and refused to meet with journalists after the season.

Prior to their relationship breaking down and Irving requesting a trade, the Nets had first offered Irving an extension.  After winning their first two games with Kyrie Irving, the Mavericks went 7-18 and failed to advance past the play-in round, a year after besting the Western Conference finals.
