Napoli striker Victor Osimhen breaks record of Lionel Messi, Cristiano Ronaldo, Zlatan Ibrahimovic in his 197th game

Victor Osimhen has a tremendous season going on after he broke Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo’s records while leading Napoli to the top of the points table in Seria A.

The Nigerian superstar has been at the heart of Napoli’s success after scoring 19 goals and providing further three assists already in 23 appearances across all formats.

The breakout star has been on the scoresheet against Napoli’s most recent clash with Sassuolo and it was his 100th career goal in 197 outings for the clubs and country he played in: Napoli, Lille, Sporting Charleroi, and of course Nigeria.

Meanwhile, the sensational forward has surpassed the superstars with the likes of Lionel Messi, Cristiano Ronaldo, and Zlatan Ibrahimovic after scoring 100 goals in rapid quick time.

In a comparison with the Footballing elites, Lionel Messi took 210 games to secure his 100th career goal as the five-time Ballon d’Or winner Cristiano Ronaldo scored 100 goals in 301 appearances. Zlatan Ibrahimovic took 245 hourings to knock past the century career goals.

Victor Osimhen is just behind the current superstar Kylian Mbappe and Erling Haaland in terms of matches taken to reach the monumental figure. Mbappe took 180 appearances while Erling Haaland needed just 142 to reach the milestone.

Before joining to Napoli with a massive $50 Million transfer, Osimhen played for Lille after joining them back in August 2019 from Belgian club RSC Charleroi. The Nigerian played for the French club during the 2019-2020 season.

During his one season at Lille, Osimhen made a significant impact, scoring 18 goals in 38 appearances across all competitions, and was named the club’s Player of the Season for the 2019-2020 campaign.

The Nigerian superstar could well lead Napoli to glory after 33 years as they last clinched the title way back in 1990 and are truly on the course this season to bag the Championship home which will be a historical achievement.

Many giant clubs across Europe are targeting Naples forward as a transfer target, but the starman will only focus to win something with his current club and look to tarnish the record books more and more frequently.
