The photo, which features the rap legend alongside Snoop Dogg and 50 Cent, instantly sent fans down memory lane, reminding us of the unforgettable era of early 2000s hip-hop.
On Instagram, the rapper behind “Lose Yourself” posted a throwback photo featuring himself and Dr. Dre from their performance at last year’s Eminem Super Bowl Halftime show.
“You better show respect whenever the doc’s brought up… Happy bday Dr Dre,” the Detroit native captioned the picture.
Last year’s Eminem Super Bowl Halftime show featured not only Eminem and Dr. Dre, but also other notable artists such as Snoop Dogg and 50 Cent. On the occasion of Dr. Dre’s birth anniversary, the hip-hop community commemorated the birth of a highly influential figure in the rap industry.
Dr. Dre, a living legend in his own right, is credited with being a key player in the development of a new subgenre of hip-hop, G-Funk. Additionally, he holds the distinction of being the first rap billionaire.
Dr. Dre’s life and work have had a profound impact on the evolution of rap and hip-hop as we know it today.
