It looks like Giannis Antetokounmpo will soon see the Milwaukee Bucks become his family home. After his older brother Thanasis Antetokounmpo signed for the Milwaukee Bucks back in 2019, the “Greek God” Giannis has his younger brother Alex Antetokounmpo also joining the Bucks side. However, the NBA Twitter community is accusing Giannis Antetokounmpo and his brother of “laundering” money from the franchise.
Giannis and the Bucks started their journey together back in 2013 and during this decade-long trip, the Bucks star managed to win the franchise their first championship 50 years back in 2021. The fans and the management at Bucks both love Giannis and respect what he has done for the team. But with more Antetokounmpo talent joining the franchise the fans are getting a bit hilarious with their reactions.
Giannis Antetokounmpo’s brother signs with Bucks
Alex is the youngest amongst the three Antetokounmpo brothers associated with the Bucks. He was signed on the 1st of September, 2023 but was waived off the same day. This is a repeating occurrence with Alex, the same happened with him last off-season, where he was signed by the Bucks but waived afterward. The deal Alex signed allows the team to keep his G-league rights and makes the younger Antetokounmpo eligible for a $75,000 bonus if he spends a minimum of 60 days with the Wisconsin Herd.

Them boys just laundering— Juju Uno (@ZaheerUno) September 1, 2023
The fans online are taking up this matter and accusing Alex of getting free money, some even accuse him of laundering the money. These comments don’t matter that much as the money being paid to Alex can be seen as a fair exchange for his G-league rights. On the other hand, these comments reveal the general perception of fans regarding Alex and his deal with the Bucks.
Antetokounmpo casts shadow of doubt over Bucks Future
Giannis Antetokounmpo recently had something to say about his future with the Milwaukee Bucks. He cast a shadow of doubt over his Bucks future by stating that he wouldn’t be signing a contract extension if he didn’t feel like everyone was on the same page. The King of the Mid-range talked about how he sacrifices time with his family for his team.
Now it seems like he is bringing his family to the team as his youngest brother also signed with Bucks and could be used in the regular season roster in the future. Alex will still play with the Wisconsin Herd most probably for now and get the bonus of $75,000 and while he does that the fans will not stop trolling him for it. Between all this, the future of Giannis Antetokounmpo remains a mystery as his contract’s end draws near.
