NFL Trade Rumors: Dak Prescott shares candid response on future with Cowboys after disappointing season

As the NFL offseason heats up, trade rumors are swirling around some of the league’s biggest names. One player who has been at the center of speculation is Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott. After a disappointing 2020 season, many fans and analysts are wondering what the future holds for Prescott in Dallas. Recently, Prescott shared a candid response on his future with the Cowboys.

Dak Prescott signed a four-year, $160 million contract with the Dallas Cowboys in March 2021, two years after his first contract. The deal is set to run through 2024. The Cowboys could have saved money if they had offered Prescott his second contract earlier.

However, they are expected to save money by offering him his third contract sooner rather than later.

Cowboys executive vice president, Stephen Jones, confirmed in February that the team plans to extend Prescott’s contract. Recently, other quarterbacks like Lamar Jackson and Jalen Hurts signed new deals.

However, Prescott said that he leaves contract negotiations to his agent and the Cowboys. His only concern this offseason is to improve his performance, and he is working with the offensive staff to address the interceptions he made in the previous season.

“That’s something I leave to the Cowboys, and I leave to my agent,” Prescott said.

“They got it done years ago, and when it’s time to get it done again, I trust in both of them. As Stephen has said, it might happen overnight. Who knows, right? But that’s not any of my concern or in my thought process.”

As NFL trade rumors continue to swirl, Dak Prescott’s future with the Dallas Cowboys remains uncertain. However, the quarterback has made it clear that he is committed to the team and trusts his agent and the Cowboys’ management to handle contract negotiations.

As the offseason progresses, fans will be keeping a close eye on any updates regarding Prescott’s status with the team. One thing is certain: if Prescott does end up leaving Dallas, it will be a major shakeup for the Cowboys and the rest of the NFL.
