The former running back for the Eagles Miles Sanders may still be haunted by the wounds of losing the last Super Bowl game, but he is optimistic that this season will be a great turnaround for him with a different team.
The running back spent his first four seasons with the Eagles in the front row, recording 739 carries for 3,708 yards, 124 catches for 942 yards, and 23 touchdowns.
Why did Mile Sanders leave the Eagles?
As the RB left the Eagles team and listed his name on the Panthers roster, it was like adding another nightmare for Eagles fans. Many people viewed it as the Eagles’ 38-35 loss to the Chiefs in the Super Bowl final and his underwhelming performance, which included just 7 carries for 16 yards. In an associated press, Miles revealed that his former teams’ loss was not the main cause, instead, he pointed them out without disclosing the specifics.
“Last game of the season? For all of the marbles? Everybody can answer that question,” he said. “If they put themselves in my shoes, would they be happy? I don’t want to make headlines, [but] if it does, I don’t care.”
No smoke without fire! Departure from Philadelphia was not anticipated, as the 26-year-old hinted on the day after achieving career highs with 1,269 rushing yards and 11 rushing touchdowns in the last season with them.
“I can get into that another day, maybe,” he cited. “Maybe you should ask them why I’m moving here.”
Can Miles Sanders win the Super Bowl next season?
The running back wants to put the past depressing period behind him now that he has joined the Panthers as their first running back in free agency. He knows it is pointless to cry over spilled milk and instead wants to concentrate on helping the team win the Super Bowl.
The last time was not for him to snatch the title, however, he got some tricks and formula injected in him and wants to employ more formula to get this one done for the Panthers. Now that his former defensive coordinator Duce Staley is a member of the Eagles team, he is more optimistic about the outcome as he is more familiar with the entire procedure.
“This is going to give me more opportunities to help my team win, and that’s all I’m about,” he added. “I’m a team guy and I want to do whatever I can to help our team win. Making it to the Super Bowl is pretty addicting and if I knew the formula I would do it every year.”
