Patrick Mahomes drops bombshell confession that he wanted to play against Bengals to silence their trash talk in NFL playoffs

The NFL community is accustomed to seeing the duel between Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow and Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes. The battle of speech involving throwing issues has been more obvious following a strong pass by Bengals Ja’Marr Chase.

The fans of the two teams frequently engage in verbal conflict. The Chiefs’ starting quarterback Patrick Mahomes though, made a promise to close all the doors for the Bengals in playoff games once Chase and Burrow added them in the middle.

Patrick Mahomes’ determination to face the Bengals in the playoffs

The five-time Pro Bowler seems to take every contender seriously. Nevertheless, during his appearance in the “Quarterback” docuseries, Pat stated his wish for a rematch between the Chiefs and the Bills. The Bills seem like a tough contender for him, hence the 27-year-old loves defeating them and proving his supremacy in the NFL field.

Patricks’ team has dropped three straight contests, including the 2022 AFC Championship, to the Bengals. In fact, looking at the Bengals over a longer period of time, they usually come out on top. Since the Bengals have defeated the Kansas City team in seven of the previous eight games and four of the previous five, respectively.

Additionally, after the Bengals’ receiver denied to regard him as the league’s best, the thought and wish of the two-time Super Bowl winner now seems to have taken a U-turn. The quarterback was likely quite pissed off hearing the slurs of the Bengals’ fans and players.

As a result, a rematch between the two teams is a more expected and thrilling opportunity for the two-time MVP.

“This is why @Netflix “Quarterback” is so cool to watch. Here is Mahomes at his house after the divisional win over the Jags talking about how he thinks they matchup better vs the #Bills but he wants to play the #bengals because he’s a competitor and is “tired of them talking”, James Palmer tweeted.

Who won the 2022 AFC Championship?

The night was between Burrow and Mahomes’ team at Arrowhead stadium where the former was more expected to come out as victor due to their straight victory in previous campaigns.

Joe and his team seemingly had all the caliber to bring the match under their umbrella having two chances to take the lead in the fourth quarter with the score 20-20. All their hopes and expectations were sadly diminished by the Chiefs’ super defense.

Later, the Chiefs defeated the Bengals in the AFC Championship match 23-20 with Pats’ first win over Burrow. Following the win Chiefs approached one more step to winning their third Lombardi trophy which they at last uplifted defeating the Eagles.

One year after the Bengals smashed the Chiefs’ Super Bowl dreams in Arrowhead in the AFC Championship Game, Patricks’ team got their ultimate revenge. Albeit, it was not enough for the squad, hence the Chiefs star is looking for another chance to get back to them.
