The ex-Patriots QB was invited to return to New England for the Patriots season opener against the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday, Sept. 10, and speaking with the New York Post, Kraft said the 45-year-old star immediately accepted the honor.

“When I made him the offer he accepted right away. I mean, the demand for tickets for that game is unbelievable, so we look forward to honoring him.”

New England’s owner said he knew Brady still had the franchise in his heart and revealed the initiative was planned to let the New England fans get an opportunity to honor the player who had amassed six Lombardi trophies for them in two decades.

“We always knew he was a Patriot at heart and we wanted him back here. We want our fans to be able to recognize everything he did for us and how special he is.”

Robert said seeing Brady’s career from a young star to the future Hall of Fame quarterback has been an absolute pleasure for him.

“Tom has been such a special part of my life for the last (23 or 24 years). Twenty years with us and, you know, seeing him grow from a young man right out of college and evolve in relationships where he had, three children.”

After being selected 199th overall by the Patriots in the sixth round of the 2000 NFL Draft, the California Cool spent 20 seasons under Belichick’s guidance and established himself as a formidable force in the squad from 2001 to 2019. But what did force Tom Brady to leave his beloved team?
