Pedro Neto apparently a priority for Arsenal but Wolves unwilling to sell

Pedro Lomba Neto or simply Pedro Neto, 22, is a Portuguese professional footballer who currently plays as a winger for Premier League club Wolverhampton Wanderers and the Portugal national team but he began his career at Braga before being loaned to Italian club Lazio in the summer of 2017.

Neto, a former Portuguese youth international, joined Wolves in 2019 and made his full International debut in November 2020 by scoring in his first match for Portugal.

Why did Pedro Neto suddenly become a top transfer target for Arsenal?

Wolves have given Arsenal a boost in their pursuit of Pedro Neto, and they are the ‘main candidate’ vying for another of their top transfer targets this summer.

Neto has been linked to a number of Premier League clubs this summer, including Arsenal, according to reports earlier this week.

Mikel Arteta, the Gunners’ manager, is said to be a big fan of the forward, who signed a new contract with Wolves in March and will not be cheap.

On the contrary, “Pedro is one of our best players,” Wolves manager Bruno Lage said after Neto signed a new five-year contract.

Despite having recently committed his future, The Sun claims that ‘multiple reports’ indicate that the winger ‘could be available at the right price,’ with Arsenal among the clubs made aware that he could be available this summer.

Arsenal and Nice are negotiating a loan deal for Nicolas Pepe, giving the north London club a chance to sign a new winger before the transfer window closes.

Though an addition will be made only if Arsenal can afford it and believes it will improve their options, several candidates have been seriously considered.

After signing Gabriel Jesus, Oleksandr Zinchenko, Fabio Vieira, and Marquinhos, Arsenal will be unable to spend extravagantly, and they are aware of financial fair play constraints.
