Pelicans Star CJ McCollum Hired by ESPN as Multiple-Platform NBA Analyst

ESPN’s got superstar CJ McCollum as their new up and coming NBA analyst. President of NBA Players Association adds another feat to his resume. 

CJ McCollum released  statement regarding his new career as a NBA analyst, “I am excited to bring what I feel is my unique perspective, based on my vast knowledge of the game that I’ve gained during my nine years as a player in the NBA,” 

So it happens, Pelican‘s Star actually graduated on journalism from Lehigh University. Now would be a good time to put his past few experiences on ESPN to good use. 

The New Orleans Pelicans guard has chosen this “Analyst” path for just 1 year. It will be a side job along with his responsibilities towards the Pelicans. Media career seems to be fitting for McCollum as his major was on journalism. 

Further elaborated, “To have an opportunity to put my journalism background to use on the largest stage with the many talented professionals at ESPN is a dream come true.”

David Roberts happy to have McCollum on Board

David Roberts, head of NBA and studio production at ESPN is also super excited to get McCollum on board. He expressed is sentiments-“CJ is one of the most respected players in the NBA, which is evident by his role as President of the NBA PA.”

Head of NBA and Studio Production seems to be very excited about the new addition. “CJ’s commitment to this opportunity, combined with his passion for journalism and sports broadcasting,”

The number of players who are choosing this career alongside playing for their team is increasing. McCollum has joined the club! Year round analyst and helping Pelicans make it to playoffs doesn’t seem like a bad deal. 

Other notable mentions choosing to be analysts are Golden State’s Draymond Green and  Los Angeles Sparks forward Chiney Ogwumike.
