Ever since Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift started dating, they have been supportive of each other from the football field to the concert stage. But the Chiefs star might have to play his next game without his precious girlfriend’s cheer.
Taylor’s absence is not the only thing Kelce might have to face on Monday; Kelce will be going against his dear big brother Jason on the opposite team. Things are looking even against the tide for Kelce as the Eagles oppose a new rule prior to the game.
Q102 bans Taylor Swift’s music
Philadelphia-based radio station Q102 has temporarily banned all Taylor Swift’s music before the Super Bowl rematch between the Philadelphia Eagles and Kansas City Chiefs on Monday, November 20, 2023. The station thinks Taylor’s song might be destructive for the football team before the game.
According to CBS News Philadelphia, the station’s host, Nugget, has said:
“Q102 is punting Taylor Swift from the radio station for the entire weekend because while Q102 loves Taylor Swift, we can’t get enough of her, this weekend it’s really important we show our support for the Birds.”
Even though Swift’s music is banned in Philadelphia, she’s an Eagles fan. Taylor was born and raised in Pennsylvania. The pop star’s song “Gold Rush,” has a reference to the “Eagles T-shirt hanging from the door.” She even clarified it later to the Philadelphia Swifties.
Swift hits pause in Philadelphia as Travis Kelce faces the Eagles
Travis Kelce is going to face Jason Kelce on Monday, as the Chiefs will play against the Eagles in a “Super Bowl” rematch. Unfortunately, Travis’s girlfriend, popstar Taylor Swift, won’t be present at Arrowhead Stadium to support him due to the rescheduling of her Eras Tour. Taylor has always been supportive of Travis Kelce, ever since they started dating.
The Chiefs will play against the Eagles at Arrowhead Stadium on Monday for a Super Bowl rematch. The Chiefs are in pretty good form and spirit in the league, while the Eagles are also optimistic about going against the Chiefs. The most exciting part of the game is the rivalry between the “Kelce brothers.” Both teams have played against each other a total of 10 times, with the Chiefs leading with 6 wins and the Eagles winning the remaining. The previous game between the Chiefs and the Eagles was on February 12.
Although Swift was present in almost every game of Travis Kelce, she might not make it this time due to the Eras Tour rescheduling. On Friday, November 17, a 23-year-old fan, Ana Clara Benevides Machado, died during the concert due to the extremely hot weather in Rio de Janeiro. As Taylor has always been cautious about her fans, she rescheduled the date from Saturday to Monday. Swift took it to social media to address the matter:
“I’m writing this from my dressing room in the stadium. The decision has been made to postpone tonight’s show due to the extreme temperatures in Rio. The safety and well-being of my fans, fellow performers, and crew has to and always will come first.”
Previously, Taylor’s Eras Tour concert in Buenos Aires, Argentina, got rescheduled due to bad weather conditions.
