Qatari investor Sheikh Jassim eager for outcome of fifth and final $7.4B Manchester United bid

Qatari businessman Sheikh Jassim is expecting his offer for the total takeover of Manchester United to be accepted as he submitted a final bid of $7.4 billion.

Shiekh Jassim is the favorite to buy the club ever since it has been put up for sale by the Glazer family. There have been three rounds of bidding, with Shiekh Jassim the candidate with the highest bid offer.

Currently, Manchester United are in trouble regarding the ownership of the club. As the Glazers have still not clarified whether they will sell the club and if so to whom. This has impacted the transfer strategy of the club as they are unclear whether they can spend the money needed to reinforce the squad for next season.

How much is Sheikh Jassim’s fifth and final bid for the takeover of Manchester United?

Shiekh Jassim has issued an ultimatum to the Glazers as he sent his final bid offer. It is estimated to be his final offer and if rejected, he will be out of the race. The new offer is close to £6 billion. He is also vying for full ownership of the club.

The only other competitor to the Qatari bid is Sir Jim Ratcliffe, CEO of Ineos. He is preferred to the Qataris by the current owners: the Glazer family. He did not bid for the whole club, but instead for a huge percentage. His bid is said to value United more than the Qatari bid which is a big factor. Ratcliffe gave current owners and co-chairman Joel and Avram Glazer the option to stay as minority owners for up to four years.

Sheikh Jassim also offers more. He will also pay off the almost £1 billion debt the club has accrued under the Glazers and would immediately pay the Glazers in full.

Money is not a problem for Shiekh Jassim as he will have enough funds. He will have enough to spend on huge transfers, redeveloping Manchester United, and improving its training facilities. The main aim is to allow the club to return to the top of football.

They also promise to incorporate the fans into the management of the club. He will also pay off the almost £1 billion debt the club has accrued under the Glazers. The bid also promises to improve the infrastructure of the training center, the club stadium-Old Trafford and also the Manchester area nearby.

Sheikh Jassim waiting to hear outcome of the final bid

Many reports, such as the Manchester World, report that the new owner will be announced this week.

Reports from Qatar have also gone on to say that the takeover bid has been accepted. This led to many believing the club has been finally purchased by the Qataris. There has also been a significant rise in the share prices of the club following the news.

However, the Qatari representatives said that the news is misleading and that they are still waiting for confirmation from the Glazers.

The bid was made last week and Siekh Jassim was clear that it would be his last one. If rejected, he said that he will not further engage with the club beyond that. The statement was understandable considering the Glazers still haven’t picked a winner despite months of negotiations.

It is said that Sheikh Jassim and his camp are very eager to get the takeover deal done. He is ready for the summer transfer windows, with big plans for the club.

Apparently, the Qatari investor will look to bring in Neymar Jr from Paris Saint Germain. Further recent reports also suggest they will try to move in for Kylian Mbappe, who is looking for a way out of the club.

In the coming week or weeks, we could see a new owner in Manchester. A new era will begin for the Reds as they will certainly be strengthened if Shiekh Jassim indeed wins the bid.
