Israel Adesanya drops optimistic take on MMA star Francis Ngannou’s UFC return: “I think he might do what he does and come back”

Last month, Francis Ngannou struck a historic deal with the Professional Fighters League. Many of his former UFC colleagues, including Israel Adesanya, continue to hold out hope that Dana White would bring Ngannou back to the UFC in the future.

Ngannou had discussions with One Championship and Bare-knuckle Fighting Championship before joining PFL. None of those promotions, nevertheless, were able to successfully conclude with Ngannou.

Israel Adesanya: optimistic take on Ngannou

There are many different opinions among MMA experts on the latest deal Ngannou made with the Professional Fighters League. In a recent interview with the MMA Hour,” The Last Stylebender” went into great depth with Ariel Helwani about the Ngannou deal.

“I’m proud of him because his story is very unique from before the UFC, very unique. And he’s paving his own way, signed with the PFL. The story’s not over yet. I think everyone needs to chill. Everyone needs to chill and just watch.” Adesanya said.

Although Francis spent almost ten years in Dana’s company, Ngannou finally left the UFC due to the turbulent relationship between him and the UFC president. The middleweight champion believes that anything is possible if Dana wants it bad enough, including Francis making a comeback.

‘Francis will never fight in the UFC again.’ I think might do what he does and come back and they’ll pay him what he deserves, what he’s earned because they f**ked him for a long time.” Israel added.

Is Francis Ngannou still signed with the UFC?

Francis Ngannou left the UFC in January after eight years with the top MMA company in the world due to a breakdown in contract negotiations.

The Predator didn’t extend his contract with Dana White’s promotion because, in addition to the money issue, he pointed out a few other issues, including his willingness to compete in boxing matches, which UFC wouldn’t let him do.

During his tenure as a free agent, Francis received numerous offers from various MMA companies. “The Predator” ultimately signed a deal with the Professional Fighters League (PFL) last month after being a free agent for five months.
