Raiders Davante Adams to face severe penalty after cameraman files police report

Filing police reports has been the highlight of Monday night football for the past few weeks. After last week’s Bobby Wanger incident, Raiders receiver Davante Adams’ incident is now the latest addition to the Monday night football drama.

Adams faced a police report after allegedly pushing down and injuring a photographer on the sideline during the Raiders’ 30-29 loss.

The photographer, who was pushed by Adams, was later taken to the hospital by an ambulance. Before that, the photographer went to the cops at Arrowhead Stadium moments after Adams pushed him.

It is reported that injuries the man suffered due to the pushing down are non-threatening. Nonetheless, he files a report against Adams as he had to be taken to the hospital due to the shoving.

Adams, immediately after the game, apologized for his actions. As if he had no other options in hand. “I wanted to say sorry to him for that because that was just frustration mixed with him literally just running in front of me,” he said. The 29-year-old then regrets his actions, saying, “I shouldn’t have responded that way, but that’s how I initially responded. So, I want to apologize to him for that.”

What Lies Ahead of Adams Following the Incident?

The NFL is not going to tolerate such behavior from the players. No matter how much they regret it, the league wants to set an example to let all the players know the consequences of such an act.

The exact punishment has not yet been revealed, but it’s evident that the penalty is going to be a lot heavier. Whether it could be a huge fine or a number of games of suspension is unknown.

The incident is being looked into by detectives from the assault unit of the Kansas City Police Department. They’ll also work with the prosecutors to determine whether to file charges.

As it stands, Adams could face heavy penalties from both ends. The league is adamant about punishing Adams, and if the victim files charges, Adams could be in huge trouble.
